Tense with China, Japan Submarine Appears in Philippines

A Japanese submarine for the first time in 15 years appeared in the Philippine
port to perform military cooperation. Japanese submarines comes as the
Philippines engaged tensions with related Chinese South China Sea dispute.
Japanese
submarine that is one of the largest submarine owned Tokyo. The submarine was
escorted by two destroyers of the former military base, United States (US) in
Subic Bay for a tour of Southeast Asia.
"It's
just an exercise and the main purpose is to train officers," said Captain
Hiraoki Yoshino of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force to reporters, Sunday
(03/04/2016).
"We
do not have any message to any country," he said, as quoted by Reuters.
According to him, the visit of a Japanese submarine aims to increase the trust
between Japan and the Philippines.
China,
as is known to have claimed nearly all of the South China Sea region, which
produces about $ 5 trillion of the activity of trading ships each year.
However, Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Taiwan also have claims
in the region.
Japan
and China are also involved in the disputed islands in the East China Sea. In
the South China Sea conflict, Japan has been increasing the presence of ships
and aircraft to its allies in Southeast Asia, such as Vietnam and the
Philippines.
Japan
even has offered to help the Philippines in order to improve the ability to
monitor what is happening in the South China Sea, including the hire of three
reconnaissance aircraft TC-90, which kesepekatannya could be reached later this
